1275 Engine Set-Up, Exhaust Type, Carb Ect

so im running a 1275 engine as far as i know its standard although a bloke who said he knew alot about mini's said its got a fast road cam cause it ticks over lumpy, its running a hif 44 carb which i understand is bigger than standard dont know what jets or needles,k&n air filter, its got a big exhaust like this > http://www.minisport...AN583-7S6S.html
2.5" twin exit thing with an lcb manifold, am i right in thinking this wont be producing alot of back pressure making the car loose performance and wasting fuel? the car isnt to bad on fuel im getting around 30-35mpg and thats not driving carefully but if it could be better thats always a bonus, could i benefit hugely on fuel by fitting a smaller hif carb? orrrrr... would i be better saving up for a rolling road set-up? the car has been set-up by a professional but only by noise ect...

The carb will be okay. It was fitted as standard to the later 1275s. The exhaust will only be loosing you 5-10 bhp, at most. Your choice whether you swap it for a 1 & 7/8 system though.

Most mini's will benefit for a rolling road, with fueling setup and timing tweaking. People are always skeptical about the benefits of such a service, but the change can be amazing. Have a look on here for a reccomended local place. the normal cost is circa £150. Well worth it IMO.

5-10 bhp thats loads imo! :o what exact exhaust would you recommend? an rc40? would i have to change the stainless pipe as well or just the back box?

I doubt you'll feel much difference on the road, but a 1 7/8 system will be an improvement. An rc40 or maniflow are considered the best options
