Hi,

I have a 1985 City E and the choke cable is stuck, won't move at all so i cant really start it up easily :(

I run a hs4 carb for my 998cc A series engine and got a new choke cable about a week ago, any help on fixing this would be appreciated

Cheers!

if you've just got a new one, check it hasn't been sitting on the manifold and melted...this happened to me, twice  :shy:

if it looks ok, then check that you can move the choke on the carb by hand.

if thats ok, then check the metal part of the cable directly behind the switch facia to see if its fallen apart.

if its none of those things, then i'm out of ideas lol

Do you mean it's failed in a week?  Is your engine earthed properly?  If not the starter current will be earthing through the cables which welds them closed.
