Official 2013 Beaulieu Event Entry Photos are now listed here:
http://www.bluepigph...o.uk/f756671189

Beaulieu 2012 - 664 cars passed the entry gate photographer above......of which 522 were Mini's and 142 were MINI's.

Overall numbers of both Mini's and MINI's attending were up for 2013 no doubt helped by the sunny weather this year.

Beaulieu 2013 - 847 cars passed the entry gate photographer above......of which 670 were Mini's and 177 were MINI's.

Somehow I don't think any main event organisers like 'Mini in the Park' or the 'Brands Hatch Mini Festival' will be turning MINI enthusiasts away anytime soon  ........especially since the Gaydon Mini Show this year has had to announce it is opening entry to all BMC/Leyland cars (as well as MINI's) to stay viable as an annual event.......

You're not the only one!  If I'm honest, not only do I find Realminiman's posts quite comical, I just love the fact that he calls himself Realminiman, which to me insinuates that he supports real Minis, which of course that's what modern Minis are!  Currently 900 a day are rolling off the line at Cowley although only about 180 of those will stay in this country as 80% are exported.  Still, 180 new modern Minis appearing on our roads each day is not only a good thing, but the numbers will mount up and the enthusiast base will continue to grow.

As someone who's involved with various clubs and helps organise the odd show/convoy, modern Mini is very much there and involved.  A great many of the owners are former classic Mini owners (or still have them), but just need something more practical for everyday use.  A modern Mini will be leading the convoy to the Gaydon Mini/BMC/BL show.  Realminiman - why don't you come and join us?  We will start from Cowley and you will get an opportunity to look around the Plant's Centenary exhibition before we leave (lots of real Minis to look at, both clasic and modern), surfblue63 is filming the convoy, and it's all for free!  Obviously, you need to pay to get into the show when we arrive at Gaydon.  Come and join all the real minis ;D

And I'm taking my 2002 MINI Cooper, which hasn't been to a Mini Show since the 2005 Stamford Hall event (still got the sticker on the screen behind the mirror). It will make a change not to arrive some where needing to take a leak as my kidneys have been bounced up and down so much.

Ha ha - come on Realminiman, come and join us all at Cowley on 7th July to convoy together to Gaydon.  Where do you live?   I'm quite intrigued to meet you!   Surely this is an invite that you can't refuse! :D

We'll have a great day with lots of real Minis of all shapes and sizes, or better described as those who bounce your kidneys up and down and those who don't!

MINI's don't have any BMW badges in the same way that classic Mini's did not have Rover badges. MINI's are associated with Mini's because they are the new current model, in the same way as the New VW Beetle, New Fiat 500 and New Jaguar F Type are carrying on their respective marques heritage into the future.......thats how the car industry works to avoid falling sales due to outdated models. It was good for us the classic Mini lasted so long but only because BL had no spare cash to invest in new models like the Issigonis '9X' Mini hatchback replacement and sadly the steady decline in Mini sales since the peak in 1971 did BL/Rover no favours in the long term as a car company.

The New MINI's do have their own dedicated show each year to which Classic Mini's are always invited and welcomed (remember many MINI enthusiasts have owned classic Minis or still do) this year it is called the BIG MINI show and has a classic Mini class in the Show 'N' Shine, it takes place on Sun 15th September 2013, full details below should you wish to come along! :-)

THE BIG MINI SHOW
SUNDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER 2013
Penkridge Market, Staffordshire, Just off Junc 13 M6.

I will post a reminder in events nearer the time in case you forget.
