3 synchro from an austin 1100 ( hence ADO16 ), what type of case is it, magic wand or remote, both used the 22G68 case casting, and if remote, which way to the bolts connect the long ali remote to the back of the gearbox.. if it is an ADO16 version, bit of a pain putting them into a mini because you don't have enough room for the bolts.
The laygear will be the same as used in the mini and Morris minor and some midgets, which all had different part numbers for the same thing.

I would hazard a guess that it's an austin 1100 gearbox, hence the ado16 markings. Is the diff housing a mini one or an austin 1100 one ie: for a solid or sandwich plate remote?

Ah sorry, must have been typing at the same time as the resident gearbox expert. His reply is far more detailed than mine!

It'll probably be a B type 3 synchro, most are, only early 3 synchro's are A type. And yes, the internals for remote and magic wands are the same so can be transferred between cases, however, the diff covers are a matched pair with the gearbox and should not be swapped. Sometimes you will get one which will be a very close fit, but more often than not there's a noticeable difference which will translate into a displacement of the bearings or differential which can cause at worst a very nasty gear meshing problem with the pinion and bits of teeth and gear being spread about the floor, to a really annoying oil leak which won't go away.
