I was just wondering was there any internal differances between them i will be building a 1330 supercharged engine. im just asking as i have already brought some omega forged pistons.
will this engine be ok or should i source an a+ engine

sorry if its a stupid question and thanks for your help

If you need a 1330 a + engine, I have a complete engine and would contemplate to sell if offered the right price?

Not too sure mate, would not be able to answer that one for you. If it is not and you need a A+, then give me a shout mate

The A+ engine has no tappet covers on the 1275 block and is therefore a stronger casting, depends what power your after? If you treat it sensible then for a road car then it should be ok, there are other supercharged 1275s A series out there. If you intend to get the maximum power available then the A+ block/crank would be a stronger starting point, espicially if you intend any competition use

I'm hoping for 120-150bhp but it will be a weekend toy I have a Austin 1300 gt block and crank would that be better to use. Or should I find a a+

A+ Block and Crank is stronger,

The older A series standard block had a large casting hole above the centre main bearing housing and this hole has been proven to be the cause of fatigue cracks, but around 76-77 the casting hole was deleted so check on your engines if you have this casting hole to be sure. But for the kind of power your after I'd use a A+ Block for extra reliability

Thanks I will start stripping it tomorrow and see what's what. And also keep a eye out for a cheap 1275 block and crank.
