Heater Matrix

hi,

 

is it possible to repair a leaking heater matrix or is it a case of once they start leaking they need to be thrown and replaced with new?

Replace it when they start to leak then its time for a new one. Not worth a load of hot water around your feet.

Normally its just a case of replacement. However it depends what type of matrix it is and where it is leaking.

I have fixed one of the earlier ones with the metal outlets by soldering it. The leak was at the outlet where it had cracked.

As above if it's leaking replace it. Even if you do manage to fix the leak permanently, a matrix that has started to leak will generally be past its best and its therefore really only a matter of time until it starts leaking again somewhere else.
