My head gets very hot when the sun is up and streams through the sunroof glass..! Its tinted, but still lets in so much heat! Was there anything ever fitted on the inside of these that may have been lost/removed by previous owners?

 It depends on the roof but not usually in a Mini because there's not a lot of space for a blind.  The roof units were often dealer options rather than production line items and so were not always the actual approved unit but may have been something similar from a local specialist.

Yep, this looks very after market. I'll get one of those sun shield things kids have in the back of cars that sucker to the window. Might work until I get fed up of it falling off.

I use these in the back of the wife's car. They just stick to the glass by static and you can trim to shape.

Wear a hat. Simples! I fly gliders with Perspex canopies and always wear a hat when the sun is shining.

I usually wear a hat in the sun not having much hair on top in the sun...! Cheers all, hopefully I have not put a curse on the sun going in now :-(
