I sort of started this a while ago but have lost the thread. It didn't have that much info so I thought I'd start putting up some pics etc.

Always wanted to build a new 1275 if possible. When I was a kid we had a Mini Clubman which my father loved and it was the first and last car we worked on together. He always wanted a faster version but we could never afford it.

Anyway that was back in 1983, here's the inspiration:

So what have I done so far, I've stonechipped the underneath, I've cut the front wings as I want to fit 13 inch wheels. Felt sick cutting into a new shell:

Looks like a nice colour in the engine bay, is that the body colour i presume ? will look stunning.

Following this project thread jase.

Looking forward to your next update

Cheers

Wow heritage shell nice!

Just wanted to ask a bit randomly - the donor S reg wasn't UYR 70S was it?

I know its so unlikely but every time I see a black 1275gt on an S reg I always check :)

It was my mums and I would love to find it/just know what happened to it......

Anyway good luck :D

The colour is Bracken, looks better in the flesh.

Empty pockets now O_O though.

I'll try to keep this updated but I warn you it is slow.

I have however purchased most of the parts including a new engine and gearbox.

Next job after painting the underneath is assemble the rear subframe so I can wheel the car around.

I need to dismantle one of the donor cars (the black one) and use things like the dashboard. Also need to exchange the rear radius arms as I have a £110 deposit waiting for the old ones back.

I'm not sure, I can check next week. I know it is a one owner car, resided in the Heathrow area. Driven onto the drive in 91 and left to rust. No GT decals down the side if that helps.

I'll check.

That would be great if you could :) the car was around heathrow area and 1991 was when it was last taxed but I think it would have had more than 1 owner.....
Its a long shot but you never know unless you ask! :D

No problem, it did have two owners, mixed it up with the other one. I haven't got the car at home so will check next week. All the photos I have I have blurred the number plate out. It does have a few estate agents stickers on the back windows and has the brown cloth interior. Any help?
