hi, just installed my new head unit and to 60 watt 6" speakers in the dash, they are plenty loud enough and give good sound but i just want a bit more bass. i was thinking of getting 2 small subwoofers round about 50-80 watts and sticking them in the back under the seats. can you buy subs like these and can anyone recomend a certain make?
thanx

small subwoofers, recomendations please

JL also do 6" subs which would be more suitable since you could fit 2 of them under the rear seat. Remember you'll have to amp these (like any other sub). If you're looking for an easy no-hassle solution (won't sound as good), you could get an active sub (sub that's already amped). These can be quite small or big, but generally don't sound as deep or good as if you just buy subs and amp them separately.

As Pavel said, not really much point in adding subs then running them off the head unit
Really won't see much benefit in the way of bass at all

i got some 8" kevlar ones off ebay for about £40... theyre rated at 300Wrms each and loud as hell best in the boot though, i wouldn't go more than 6" under seats

It is physically impossible to fit anything over 6" under the rear seats unless its mounted on an angled baffleboard. So Technically thats not really "under" the seats. its "infront" of them!

.... not quite true,... I have 6.5" subs on my speakerboard
,.... but anything bigger IS impossible without raking the board in at an angle in which case... get some good kick grills too!!!
JBL do 6.5" subs for £80 each.... they punch like hell, real quality. but you have to pay for it.
