Hi

Just a little question.

I rebuild my wiring and I don't remember where it wiil go.

It is in the same wiring of the brown wires go to the soleoide for inertia starter. I don't find the same wire at the end where it must be connected before ( wire is cut)... It's a small wire.

Thanks for fast answer

Anything which has a based colour of brown is a permanent live wire..

Normally a Brown/blue wire would be between the stater solenoid (+ve from battery terminal) and the alternator and should be a fairly heavy grade wire (thick)

On the second part of the wiring from the place located to the relays there is another brown and blue wire who is cuted.

This one i want to fit. To the solenoid whit others brown wires... I dunno not sur...

Brown blue would be part of the dim/dip relay wiring - that's a big pink relay, but I'm not sure an '83 car would have dim/dip. Do your headlights and sidelights work exactly the same with or without the ignition turned on?

The alternator should have 2 thick brown wires connecting it to the solenoid and an "exciter" that connects to the ignition warning light and ought to be brown with yellow stripes.

No dim/dip on an 83...

On 83 that brown/blue should run from the large spade connectors on the alternator to the solenoid battery terminal..same as the browns...

No idea why its no just brown takes same route.

Big brown, brown and red, and brown yellow to the alternator are ok

Lights are ok

The brown and blue wire was link with a bad link just before the right connection on the solenoid...

I changed now the starter for a Hi torque and black realys five pins.

Just want to finish the wiring before the restart...

No yellow wire for cold start on this wiring (correct due to a mini mayfair year 1983...)

That's the reason why i don't understand why I found this brown blue wire. Only one to the alternator imust be the right wiring ...???

A quick look at Haynes at the wiring diagrams from 76 up 84 show the Brown/Blue going into the 3 pin plug of the alternator (large spade) and running to the battery terminal of the solenoid.

Can only find Brown/Red on the 88 onwards models with the starter relay and combined starter motor/solenoid.
Its the energising wire from the relay to the solenoid
