Best Way To Remove Tape Goo From Sun Visors

the previous owner put double sided tape on the sun visors... for no reason as far as i can tell.

and ive tred getting it off, and the residue / goo is still there.

any way i can get rid of it from stuff at home?

would they be alright in the washing machine?

 

there rover 93 visors, plasticy kind

Water will not remove it. Have you tried white spirit or meths???

White spirit will be too aggresive.  Try WD40 or if you can get 'Sticky Stuff Remover' (actual name) its great! Lakeland usually sell it :)

Brake cleaner works! But be very careful and only use it in small amounts and very quickly!

My dad uses Wurth industrial cleaner, works for most things...

Now brake cleaner will be too aggressive, i would not have said the same for white spirit. FE10 will do it as it is a contact cleaner.

Anyone use a Zippo? Genuine Zippo lighter fluid is the best I've found for more delicate surfaces. For less delicate, just raw petrol works a treat. :-)

Thanks for the suggestions! i just used WD40, i was too lazy to go to the shed hhaa,

But it worked very well!

Glad to hear it!  Works wonders on everything haha! Just a wash over with wter to remove WD40 smell and slight residue :)

Light machine oil, GT85 or wd40 at a push, great for getting rid of sticky stuff, and a must have when sticking carpet down using spray contact adhesive.
