As above, new battery in the remote.

Disconnect the car battery, disconnect the courteousy switch in the top right side of the boot (just pulls off, purple wire), reconnect battery, and press the lock button 4 times on quick succession.

The led should flash.

Make sure all doors and the bonnet is shut. As long as you disconnect the wire in the boot, you can leave that open. Go to the full post

I have had the battery disconnected over the winter as the car has been in storage. This weekend I have connected the battery and used the car. Problem is the red led on the dash is staying lit when the alarm is set and not flashing. It worked perfectly well before the car went away for the winter.

Is there a way of resetting the alarm / immobilser?

Also, there is a black box fitted on to the bulk head behind the wooden dash, the radio when slotted in just misses it.

Is this the ECU for the alarm/immobilser?

As ever, any help will be gratefully received.

Strat.

I have changed the battery in the remote but not done the disconnecting of the boot switch. I will try this and let you know how I get on.

Thank you for coming back.

Nice one
