Can I Drill The Spot Welds Of Bonnet Lip To Make Mk1 Style Bonnet

i know people that have just ground the lip of the front to make it look like a mk1 and it looks ok until you open it and obiously the inside is different to the mk1 bonnet! but from the outside it looks good

I've done it and didn't even mark the paint.
It's a personal choice, but I've always had more success with drilling spot welds using a cutter rather than a flat ended drillbit. The cutters tend to skid less and remain located better due tot he spring loaded centre.

And when you do the reverse like I did and wanted the lip back on, self tap into the small holes...!

And I don't it today came out well I jut drilled spot welds out with normal drill bits took me about 30-40 mins
