Hi
I have recently purchased a very tidy mini metro HLE in original condition 41,000 miles and a full service history including original bill of sale this is a rare car due to the colour of it Snap dragon Yellow. :D

Now i have big plans for the car over next winter and maybe next summer if it isnt finished by then. I plan on having the car painted by a friend of my dad who is a pro sprayer and will do a flawless job, rebuild both subframes painting and powder coating as i go along, rebuild and repaint the engine, replace any tatty looking trim and finally have the front seats retrimed if i can find the correct fabric.

I already have a collection of bits:
Nos n/s/r fog lamp
3L of snapdragon yellow paint
a few NOS side rubbing stripes but not a complete set
Front panel as it lets the car down slightly

i have a list of bits i need to try collect over the next year or so:
The rest of the side rubbing stripes to make a presentable full set
a passenger door in good / mint condition
grey / black marle seat fabric
Mint condition Steering wheel
and there will be more when i go round the car properly and make a list.

So what do people think this project may get mixed opinions some people may say it should stay unrestored, But i would to make a flawless and as close to concourse car to preserve and show off for many years to come.

Josh

sweet metro dude, welcome to the mk1 club!

there was a guy on the metro run to the pride of longbridge who had a applejack green one which is also a rare colour and a vibrant one like yours is too!

The main reason i brought the car is because of the colour and i had always wanted a mk1.

It was a  common enough colour back in it's day, I know this as I worked at a main dealers back then. I'd be surprised if there's only two of them left still in existence!

Got massive love for mk1 metros, ive had a few now!

1st 1 was blue
metty.jpg

Then i found a beige 1 with paprika interior that had sat in an over grown garage for 18years
ABF91806-FFC5-471F-AE6F-88EC8B8CF4BF-758

Which then got swapped for a cream 1 with no engine but only 15k on the clock n near mint bodywork which has now become my daily on banded steels

Ill keep an eye on your build/resto/renovation! Lovely little car! :D

Metroownersclub.org or metropower.org.uk

Love it, not sure what it is, maybe me getting old! But I love metro's. Had my first driving lessons in one and would love to get another.

Good luck with it, let me know if you hear of an early metro for sale!
