Hi this is my first post on here so i'm a bit of a novice to it all. Well i bought a mini with a 1275 metro engine which runs well (could do with a tune ). But my biggest and most worrying issue is the way it handles! when ever i go to in to a right hand bend not that fast at all or a roundabout the backend just wants to come out much like i am pulling the hand brake up and las night i spun it ! luckily i didn't hit anything. I'm sure its not meant to be like this as i have heard stories that they handle like go-karts and stick to the road like glue !

Looking at the car from the rear the wheels (13inch deep dish) lean slightly away from the car at the top so a positive camber and looking from the front the passenger side is straight and the drivers side again appears to have a positive camber.

I was thinking of getting a suspension geometry kit which includes adjustable tie rod ends, lower arms and for the rear camber and tracking brackets and having it set up properly with negative camber .

Does anybody think this is the right thing to do ?

Thanks

Chris

Could be crappy tires, If the ones on the back are old, worn or even just cheap economy tires they can really affect the handling. This video gives a good demonstration of this

It could of course be tyres pressures, which need to be right for the tyre to work at its best. Slowing down would probably be an idea in the meantime however!

13s aren't renowned for being best for grip or road holding, but start that conversation and it will ignite the 12v10 argument all over again!

Thanks Good bit of advice there i have just had new tyres fitted all round, admittedly not the top of the range but medium range. I will check the tyre pressures. Do you recommend a certain psi that seems to work for you ?

Although the 13's look nice i may save them for events and grab a spare set of wheels for everyday use ! Not sure 10's would be the best for me as the town i live in doesn't have speed bumps it has small mountains in the middle of the road !!

10s ride beautifully BUT do not fit over later discs. If you want to go for 10s you will need to check what brakes you have first. 12s will go over the discs no problem. If you have 13s you may find the arches have been cut to suit and smaller wheels could look odd. Why not post up some pics?

i would upload photos but i don't know how to be honest lol. The nearside front wheel does rub on the inside of the arch only when its on full lock though
