Hi,

Just wondering if anyone is using ACF-50 corrosion inhibiter? http://www.acf-50.co.uk/

My mate uses it on his bike and i've just started using it on the mini, seems like pretty awesome stuff and i'm supprised that I havent heard of it before. Its used in the Aviation industry and it forms a long lasting barrier (as long as its not washed off every 5 mins). My plans are to apply it to new components so that the mini stays looking new and clean! I'm also gonna refurb bits which are starting to rust like my tie bars and give them a coat.

It will be interesting to hear peoples experiences with this stuff, supprising I haven't heard about it in the mini scene!

James :D

Not cheap but very good. It's well known in the motorbike world but unheard of for cars it seems. Very good for chrome work and bare alloy.

Yes I use it all the time, I mix it 30% with waxoyl and pressure spray all the box sections and inner sills, result no corrosion. Also just put a small drop on engine casings alternator etc etc and it creeps to put a layer to protect. I use my car all through winter and no corrosion yet, plus with the plastic wheel arch liners to get max benefit.

I use this on my bikes but its not as long lasting as other treatments, I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to be under the car reapplying it every month
