After recently refurbing and fitting mk1 fiesta calipers to my mini I have noticed that the sliding caliper really rattles about in the carrier when driving along. A bit of brake pressure and it takes up the slack and it's fine. There are wedges fitted top and bottom between the caliper and carrier, held in by a split pin and it's these that seem too loose causing the caliper to be loose.

Does anybody have experience of this, or have I not fitted them correctly?

Thanks, Craig

I have fitted the biggest split pins I could get in there but it didn't make much difference really. It could be something to do with the wire pieces, they may support the wedges somehow

Thanks

Just an update, I sorted this out. The wire pieces push the caliper against the carrier with the wedges there to close up the gap. My gap was too big causing the rattle so i needed to remove the wire from the carrier and bend them in a way to push the caliper closer to the carrier. Hope that makes sense
