Has anyone tried this place?
 http://www.surfacepr...al-process.html

That's the best method to get this car awsome and sorted. The whole and only process is like 2000 ounces though. Just Gettin the car sandblasted and etch primed Is only 500 ish!! I prefer blasting because it's cheaper and quicker, but I'd I had the money I'd get surface processing to do their magic on it

Around £1500 for the dip and then the coating, according to 'im indoors...

Where do I get this sandblast & prime for £500?

Will there be anything left after a sandblast?

I'm frightened to sneeze on it in case anything else falls off!

There are a few around, where are you in the UK? I use a place near to me on gosfield airfield that does it cheap:) primes them too

This will be ideal for blasting. It will be fine, I promise! :P

Well I've showed it to a chap who does up vintage cars, and he told me he'll pick it up and to 'leave it with him'

Headache over.

Until he hands me the bill...

I'm doing this with my car as I don't have the time or skill to do it myself... drove it down to the workshop last September, handed over the keys and I just bung him a big cheque every few weeks... sorted!

The enjoyable bit for me at the moment is sourcing new parts and cleaning up most of the old ones for the grand refit later on, and deciding (well alright, daydreaming about) exactly what it's going to look like when it's finished... ;D

Seems like the most sensible way forward.

Him indoors is in the motor trade, and some of his supliers have asked about sponsoring the restoration, apparently.

I like the sound of this very much ;-)

Update:

He will be on the road with a basic restoration, running and MOT.

Should be within 6 weeks.

If anyone wants it, please let me know.

(Will have disc brakes, running 998 engine, new sub frame and all the other bits we've aquired - the magic wand gear stick, original Austin 7 badges & wheels which are not included in the pics are also included

The basic body resto will cost me a grand.

83 MOB will not be included in the sale, but a appropriate reg will be on the car.

IT WILL STILL BE A PROJECT!!!

Ok, the only progress on this is a fully restored, time sensitive engine (MW gearbox and all that), but the shell has been covered and is pretty much as you see it in the earlier photos.  CLEARLY we don't have time for this, so I would like to sell it (with the reg).  Any ideas what I should ask for it?
