the other week myself and my missis went to the cinema to see oblivion with another couple.

before the film started we sat through the usual boring adverts, and then this came on....

i turned to my friend (male) when it finished and we both went "cooooooooorrrrrr!!!!"

im not really into ridiculous car that i have no hope of ever owning, but this is just glorious, what a sound! i particularly like how its got the bodywork removed at the back, and the little flashes out the exhaust too. (my 998 metro does that all the time too lol)

Nice eh? :-)

Problem is its an Audi. Perfect in every respect. But if I was spending that kind of money I would want a bit more soul, something Italian maybe, but not recent Lambos as they are Audis too.

I've driven an awful lot of Audis and not enjoyed any of them really since the days of the RS2 and the Coupe 80 shaped Quattros before it. Same for BMW, the E30 M3 was an epic car (still is), the current M3? Excellent in every scientifically measurable respect but totally soulless.

Personal view mind.

Doesn't stop me going "Coooooorrrrr" either though. :-)

Cheers

Ian

Come on lads your supposed to be mini fans so lets have something loosely mini related. What looks and sounds any better than the iconic Lamborghini Miura ??? Those twists and turns on that mountain road and those dulcet engine tones, or am I just an old romantic.
NB have you noticed my name ?? do you recognise the face.

You say something you never have a hope in owning but my mums partner has a V8 R8 and they arnt stupidly expensive, yeah the new V10 plus is going to cost a lot but you can pick up '07 '08 plate R8s now for about £40k so thats just a mid sized lux family saloon type of money,

but that is an awesome advert, I have seen it before but its breathtaking, and I wouldnt agree on the R8 being soul-less, its up there I would say and the power delivery of powerful audis is damn hard to beat in my eyes

we are mini fans, but this is in the general chat area!

and yeah, we get it, mr beckerman (as seen in your pic) was the guy in the italian job that crashed the miura into the digger in the tunnel, its not exactly cryptic is it!

I've driven quite a few Audis, The RS6 V8 bi turbo is the most powerful car I've ever driven, what a noise too!

I had a part time job in an Audi dealership when I was at uni, then in the summers I went in full time! It was awsome, paid reasonably well and I used to drove cars from dealership to dealership, fill them with fuel, clean a few etc!

I really like Audis, I'd love a TT sport (240bhp limited edition)

that must have been quite a pleasant job working there to get you through your student days! i worked in a cheap jeans shop in my local shopping centre, and for less than minimum wage too (they found a way of getting aorund it!)

im affraid you are on your own with the TT though, i really dont like them, how do you tell which end is the front? lol

When you're in the driving seat its the way you're facing!

And it has to be the sport, the one with the different coloured roof and no back seat (which is a waste of time anyway)

I just saw the new one on TV.  Whoever shot it should have tried a bit harder!  There is some really nasty moire on the cam covers and other parts of the car when it's broadcast at TV resolution.
