I'm currently with 1and1 and fasthosts, so how would i transfer them over to you?

Depending on the package I may have 2 other sites to move as currently paying £60 / £70 per year!!

Regarding 1&1, i believe they use there own control panel so I dont think its possible to do a straight forward migration between them and us. If the website is created using there website creator tool, this may lead to problems also. If your website was designed and then uploaded, this can be done fairly easily be downloading the files through FTP and uploading to the new server. Email addresses, web forwarding, databases would have to be re-created and any database info copied across.

 

I arent sure what fast hosts use for control panel, if its C-Panel it is a straight forward process. Otherwise as above.

 

In this type of situation ive come across before, the client usually keeps the domain name registration with the company (1&1 for example) but uses our DNS/IP addresses as we host the website. This way you benefit from keeping your existing domain name but using our cheaper hosting service.

 

If you let me know about the 1&1 website, if it was made using there online web creator etc.

Hi Jordie,

 

Well the other 2 were set up by my brother in law who is a web designer so will have to ask him.

 

The 1and1 site was created using there tools by me - so happy to re-do it with yourself. Think I have just paid for 3 more months so will have to get it done before renewal.
