that bit by the scuttle looks like it should go OK..

Theres still room between the wing and the inner wing, so sitting to high,

Have you tried bending the vertical lip of the wing that follows the scuttle inwards

Hi All,

After some very helpful advice from Nordicmini - thanks very much for popping round. I've adjusted the wing as we discussed and it has made things a whole lot better. Now if you look at the picture of the nearside wing you can see that it is now tight up against the scuttle on the side nearest the door. It is also tight against the scuttle on the inside section near the bonnet. It can't be moved further to the left (in to the centre of the car) to close the gap to more than 6 or 7 mm.

What is a good gap measurement? As you can see from the photos I can get the front of the wing within a couple of millimetres if needs be. In fact, if I had a wider gap narrowing down to a small gap at the front of the bonnet then that would be perfect - shame that's not that goal!

The second wing has a different problem. That wing is tight against the seam for the side panel and appears to have too large a curve. The wing is right against the front panel curves so it is sitting correctly. Any ideas how to adjust that wing?

If I can get it close to the scuttle then I think I can bring it in to the inner wing which it currently isnt sitting close enough to.

Thanks,

Rod

Its getting there but the bonnet gap can be closer. Don't be afraid to get a little medieval on the back of the wing to get it back and into the bonnet a little more.

Some dressing with a panel beating hammer at the back of the wing will help and if you use self tappers to hold the wing in place when you force it over.

Hi Sonikk

I dont really know what you mean. I do know that when I get the wing to the right gap I will use a couple of self tappers but what do you mean by using a hammer on the back of the wing?

I am only too happy to use force when necessary but I just dont see how I can get the top end by the scuttle closer. Its right up to the metal on both sides - how can it move further left?

Thanks,

Rod

Where the rear of the wing touches the scuttle you can either dress that area back with a panel beating hammer to get a better contour or you could if required make a small cut to the wing to allow it to be dressed back
