Hi all,

I just want to find out what size socket do I need to tighten my front disc main hub nut, as I have a 34mm one, but this is just slightly too small

All help really appreciated

Thanks

Bobby

1 & 5/16".  Minis are rarely metric.  There are some 34mm hub nuts out there and you are quite likely to find either on any given large CV disc braked car but if the 34mm doesn't fit you need the 1 & 5/16".  It's also used in 3 or 4 other places on a Mini so it's worth having.

If you have a classic mini, then an imperial socket and spanner set really is a must. Either that, or get used to rounding off a lot of nut's/bolt heads and some very grazed knuckles too!!

Having just fitted my disc conversion to Paddy the nuts supplied were neither 33mm or 1"5/16ths. They were 34mm. Checked double checked and i also used a Vernier to ensure i was not going mad. Then a trip to Halfrauds for a 34mm socket. Now we have a good selection of sockets for hub nuts.

Yep. Disc ones 1 and 5/16in AF. Rover supplied 34mm AF ones for European sercvice. Then from 1988 ish onwards fitted 34mm ones as OE. Minispares still supply both.

The 34mm socket should work on either imperial or metric nuts though, 1 5/16" is only 33.3mm, so the imperial nut is a tad smaller...
