Hi trying to find out what class my mini would be in, for hill climbing ? It has a fiber glass front end, no interior the only glass is in the windscreen the rest is lexon. The thing is I don't want to go to far up the class as I will be a complete novice ! (The engine is a long way down the list of things to do.)

perhaps up to 1400cc modified production. Although this has changed names as far as im aware.

You would need to modify the front end. You arnt allowed to modify the chassis between the wheel centers unless its part of the induction system.

Hi mate, you will be in the same class as me, modified production. The fibreglass front wings ( bonnet and bootlid are ok ) and lexan windows exclude you from production class straight away. I have to check the blue book, but I think that class means you have to run a roll cage, 4 pointt harness NOT 3 point, fire extinguisher and FiA battery switch too. Seat needs a headrest too. To be honest I find the class lines very blurred at sprints, some production classes over-rule the blue book in some clubs like where blue book says you can remove the carpets but club says no. Even drilled brake discs move you into modified classes in some club sprints. My mini is 1380, fully road legal but caged, fibreglass fronted and booted with Lexan, I take my daughter to school in it and drive to sprints on list 1b tyres but still I have to race against non-road legal race cars on slicks in the 1400cc class.

To be honest, at first just take part and enjoy it, I do , ring me on 07801 495568 for mote in depth info Lee

Depending where you are based the DEWS series is probably ideal for you.
