What I find mad is that they all stop to film it but no one stepped up to the mark to put a stop to it.

I am not suggesting joe public could tell the difference, but I doubt it was real gun. If it was I think they would have had more of a go at the coppers. The only way I would deal with this sort of nutter would be the bonnet of my car, but that assumes you know what is happening. It is easy to be wise with hindsight but a lot of people thought it was a genuine accident and they were helping him. Think about it, you wouldn't assume some nutters would do this would you? Seems even more tragic to think he survived Afghan only for this to happen in London...............

Not many things shock me nowadays but this did....

You cant be mad about it yet because your heart goes out to the family and friends first...mad will come later and I wouldnt be surprised if there was some kind of revenge/backlash because of this

According to the news the gun was real but was damaged or badly re-activated as it miss fired when he shot at the police blowing his finger off

Having seen one of the videos this afternoon one of them had a knife / cleaver which he appeared to drop when he ran at the Police and the other appeared to be pointing something at the Police as well. Lots of shots going off and then both of them on the ground.

What the hell is the world coming to and now its kicking off in Sweden as well??

This whole episode is deeply saddening for the victims family but also deeply worrying as well for possible retaliation.

A very large step backwards.

me and the missis were just talking about this, i checked on here as i thought someone would have bought it up.

this is just ridiculous. with all the terrible things going on in the world, wether that may be mother nature giving us a kicking, or man made problems like afghan etc, we really dont need this.

as this is a family forum, and i dont want any bother, i wont comment on what i would really like to do about this.

I think you missed the point here - the 'Afghan problem' is essentially one of the causes of this.

There is absolutely no point in attempting to try to understand anything to do with extremism. It is pure hatred, through and through and these people do not think in the same way as everyone else.

To me, this absolutely was not an act of terrorism as broadcast by the media. This was a deranged lunatic and his mate going on a revenge killing 'an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth'. The poor guy just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Guardian had quite an interesting article about this. Unfortunately, there is no way to defeat extremism and it will therefore continue to grow and grow as a problem. Groups like EDL do absolutely nothing to help the situation. Unfortunately, their popularity goes up at a time like this. People using the tragic events for their own gains. I know that the majority of the Islamic community do not think this way (like the two guys, not the EDL) and would much prefer that everyone live in peace. But in a time when racial hatred should be on slide, it seems to become more and more of an issue. Its the 21st century. Something needs to be done to fix it.

It really is a sad state of affairs. Fullest sympathies go out to his family, especially his young son that now has to grow up without a father. Its a very sad day.

And this is just the beginning. The "Rivers of Blood" speech has become too close to reality and (i'll probably get banned for saying this) the UK can expect a great deal more of the same while we meddle in the affairs of nations where we have no concern.

http://en.wikipedia....of_Blood_speech

Sooner the UK realizes that realism is not racism and that not all people in this world hold the same values, the better, but actually I think it's too late and I am happy to be away from it now.
