Ok so I reset the valves tappets and the car was driving fine afterwards! Went to York and back etc no problems but today on the way to hull just randomly as I put my foot down on the motorway it just got louder and not much speed increase along with the car shuddering... When I checked it at the roadside I checked the plugs and tappets again, one plug was loose so I tightened that back up but the valves seemed fine... So I drove on again and it was still shuddering etc!
I turned around and came back home, compression test is 12-13 on all 4. Checked the rotor arm which was black so I cleaned it up (running electronic ignition by the way)
What could be wrong now?

Yeah but it's never affected it before since I've had electronic ignition

Well it's been sat for 7 months turned over a few times... The rotor arm just had carbon on I think. Ill check the pipes again tomorrow... Though revving it sounds fine its just then driving and I put the foot down so that eliminates air leak right?

It's electronic ignition so there's no points or condenser

If its got a dizzy it'll still have a rotor arm and dizzy cap which is what Dilligaf suggested checking/changing

No in the dizzy cap under the carbon pin in the middle is a spring...It keeps the electrode in contact with the rotor arm.
