The little spring seems alright... I've ordered a gen Lucas one just to eliminate the cap.
Though I just took it for a spin and seems fine but I can't help but doubt it as it was driving really well before that happened yesterday

Cheers dilligaf! Yeah I did stretch it but not too much, wasn't sure I was meant to so not too much...
yeah cleaning rotor arm and new cap hopefully fixed it!
