Hi all

I need to print a double sided booklet for a funeral, (3 xA4 sheets making a 12 page A5 booklet)

I'm about 40% of the way thru and the printer won't pick up the paper any more, it either says jam or just "grrrrrrrs" on the pick up.

I've cleaned the pick up rollers with warm water and a microfibres cloth, and still nothing.

I've added plain paper under what I'm printing to give it height/lift etc

I'm using 260gsm double sided gloss paper
It's a brother mfc 5890 printer, which does get a lot of use for my work, prob 2000+ prints some months
I've selected glossy photo paper in th settings etc

Anyone ?

Hi im a printer engineer. Best thing would be if you can remove the roller and try shuffle round the rubber part on the plastic holder. If this is not possible then try just cleaning the roller with plain paper. If this still doesnt work then try it with just 80 gsm paper if it works then try shuffling thicker paper around the get air between the sheets could be sticking together

Thanks

I got over it,

I shuffled and rotated the aperture so it was all bulked up, that didn't work. I ran some normal inkjet paper thru it, that worked. Gloss paper again, nothing.

In the end I got a towel, and some vodka and scrubbed the pick up rollers for a good while, then tried it.......and it worked.

I guessing there's a lot of dust from the gloss paper.

All done now

Thanks
