So... I have a new leak!!
I drove my mini to South Wales from Manchester on Friday and on Saturday morning I noticed a large stain below just behing the sump. But the mini was not leaking when I looked so I drove her for 20 min, parked up and there was a proper trickle of water/oil coming down. Then it stops. What's happening???

Is it water or oil? Makes a big difference to diagnoses! Hopefully it's a water hose loose or a bypass hose leaking, so when the engine gets hot the pressure forces water out the weak spot. As it cools, pressure drops and it stops leaking. Hopefully.....

Mine leaked some water when I took it to wales,

 

Turned out to be my rad cap which wasn't sealing properly.  New rad cap and it's fine again now.

 

It may have been provoked by some enthusiastic driving on the elan valley and mountain road to aberystwyth,
