i sent them an email today about some gearbox bits for my JKD straight cut box and they replied saying that they had the bits that i needed in stock............i sent the e-mail just to see if they would reply as the website is still active but i did read on some forums that JKD went out of business.

does anyone actually know if they are or not as i heard some bad things about them taking money and not delivering the parts...... :ohno:

There have been constant rumours that they went out of business for about 8 years now but it's just talk.  They went through a management buyout a few years back but are still trading.  They are simply not a very reliable company, but then making parts for consumers isn't their core business.  Making stuff for you and I is more or less something they do by accident.  They supply all the gearboxes and steering gear for quite a few race series around the world and make parts for all sorts of motorsport and industrial equipment.  That's what they are busy with.  They did announce intentions to get better at dealing with consumers which is part of why the management wanted to take over, and that was when they overhauled their website and put up the shop.  They never follow through on anything though and simply can't be relied on.  Whenever I've called them they haven't seemed the least bit interested in taking my money.
