hello lads,

this is my first mini ive basically done up.

i bought a black half leather trim and when i went to install it the back seat top half fitted and pushed down fine but the lower part you sit on sits in but the front has nothing to keep it propped up? am i missing something?

the seat itself has 2 leather straps with which looks like screw holes.

its got me beat?

i no this might sound daft but im beat as to how it fits.

The seat cushion should fit behind a metal lip at the very front of the seat, to stop it from moving towards the front seats - this metal lip is part of the body of the car, and should also have like a plastic trim on it.

The rear part of the seat cushion should have small straps that self tap through the rear firewall into the boot area which also holds down the vertical part of the back seat, ie the bit a rear passenger would have their back to.

It can be a bit fiddly to line up the straps and metal tabs, I use a long screw driver, compress as much of the seat as possible and leave the boot open or a light in there so you can locate the holes through the body. Then once the screws are in, the cushion part should move back a bit and sit behind the metal lip.
