Hello, I'm looking for a electric ignition kit for my 1989 City-E and stumbled across this kit on Ebay. I'm just wondering is it a case of you get what you pay for or is the kit to be recommended?

Also if someone could point me in the direction of the right kit for my model mini? http://www.ebay.co.u...=item53eff791f8 Would this be the correct one?

Many thanks

Thanks! for some reason my search didn't bring up that post. Looking at the accuspark one recommended the wiring looks slightly different to the one I found. is it different in regards to installation?

I bought a new coil, leads, and powerspark dizzy from a dealer on eBay. Mine works a treat! Nice power through the revs.starts on the button. I only needed a new vacuum seal but couldn't find one on its own anywhere! I've had it on for about a year now.ive not thrown the old one out yet tho..hehe

I am always telling people to replace their points with the Powerspark unit. No more fiddling with points every few thousand miles. The major benefit for me is perfect starting every time since I fitted it over a year ago, even on a cold frosty morning last winter my Mini still started first time - marvellous.

Been said before its the most cost effective mod to a Mini you could do, as the quality of most points and condensors is very poor quality and a major source of problems.

I've used the simonbbc ones on road and race cars, and they are GREAT.

I've also tried these, and they work too, and a bit cheaper.  http://www.paddocksp...tronic-kit.html

Cheers guys, well I went for the powerspark kit and went in without a problem, though now when I start the car it's struggling to turn over and won't stay running without my foot on the throttle. I have tried adjusting the timing but its not helping. Is there anything else i can do?
