To do it properly requires new inner wings, wings and front panel.Oh and bonnet, lights, indicators, bumper, Grill.

You can go the flip front route if you want.

Have you seen what Clubman panels cost?

As above it's perfectly possible but to do properly with with new inner wings you're looking just shy of £600 for the panels alone.

And the front bumper is about another £200 isn't it?  The sidelights / indicators are pricey too, and the grille is NLA.

All heritage panels will cost in excess of £900, add in the lights bumpers grill etc plus paint then you could be looking in the region of £1600 + not a cheap conversion by a country mile.

And it looks better too! Purely personal opinion of course, others are free to disagree, or even try to convince me otherwise. Somehow I could never get to like the look of the clubman front, despite its advantages (longer crumple zone and more room for maintenance access or engine conversions), but there probably are a few really smart looking ones out there, which I have not seen yet. The standard grille is the thing which I find most visually offensive, as it resembles various inferior vehicles of that era.

The best thing about a Clubby is the extra space under the bonnet which does give you more leeway as to engine conversions. Personally i love them and i do own one so maybe biased there but we also have a roundnose in the family as well.

Tiger there are plenty of good looking clubbies out there, you need to only go to some of the bigger shows to see what's out there. There are just as many poor looking roundnoses as well as well as the outstanding ones. The real disadvantage  with Clubmans is the price of the panels as i have already stated. At least using TMF+ membership has its bonuses with regards to discount fortunately or my pocket would have taken an even bigger hammering.

Mine will be in show condition when he gets his new suit of panels and slightly upgraded engine. Nothing tacky or OTT. Just a smart looking car.

I will keep my eyes open for some nice ones then. As I suggested, the standard grille looks nasty in my opinion, but maybe in black, or even body colour,  it would be far nicer.

That extra space is certainly tempting....
