With the project mini being SORN currently, I am planning on a colour change.

It was originally British Racing Green with White roof. Now on the V5 its only registered as Multi-coloured.

If I'm changing colour to a different green with OEW roof, will I have to mention to the DVLA about a colour change, as it isn't stated as BRG anywhere.

Thanks in advance, Jack

The colour was changed on mine, and because of that, the V5 says (under the 'Special Notes' section) "Substantially repaires and/or accident damaged: identity checked 14.10.2010" that was when she was fully restored and changed colour from Black to blue. I image that the check was to make sure it wasn't nicked, as it says Identity. So it can't have been a write off. Just looks bad on the V5

Just tell them, it does not cost you anything, and there then is no doubt that it is legal.

I don't think he can, they only register 'green' and 'white' not BRG, brooklands green etc etc. If he tries to tell them he is changing it from green and white to green and white they will think he is bonkers.

Just leave as is, the DVLA and not the best at changes on the best day so they are more likely to cause you hassle you don't need.

It's still multi coloured so I don't see a need to change it at all

What I meant was change it from multi-coloured to green and white. I know that the specific colour names are irrelevant. Multi-coloured is usually taken to mean that there are more than two colours.

Great, that's reassuring then.

Would the same then apply to say a colour change to something completely different, provided that there are multiple colours, say black with white spots (for example)?

Cheers, Jack
