Hi all,

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3a81a486b3

just wondering which carb is this manifold used for,  and can it be used on a mini.  I have two of them and would like to know if I keep them for now.

I also have this

and think it is a double exhaust manifold,  mini or metro ??

many thanks,

Graham

Graham, manifold is a Metro one,....inlet manifold is a Hiff 44 one( 4bolt holes) but can be used with a 1.5' and 1.75' Su carb but could get problems with vacuum leaks as they only have 2 bolt holes themselves, hope this helps

Seen a few comments about the MG Metro manifold being one of the better ones out there.

That'll accept HS4 and HIF38, I'm not 100% about HIF44 though somebody could confirm.

You often find with these there is a difference in height between the mounting tabs of this manifold and the aftermarket exhaust manifolds.

You need stepped washers or trim the inlet manifold tabs down to same thickness

I take it the inlet manifols would have to be re drilled to take an su carb with two mounting screws,  or will it fit anyway??

Fits anyway the mounting is same as all the stage 1 kit manifolds..you just put the studs where you need them.

Doesn't fit the HS2 they have vertically mounted fittings.

HS4 and HIF carbs have the same bolt spacings, no drilling required.

The exhaust manifold is effectively a cast iron LCB, and combined with a set of Maniflow downpipes is very efficient and much, much quieter than a tubular LCB.

It's only quieter if you can get the ridiculous OE type flange clamps to seal!
