Any help would be appreciated, recently a whining noise has started from the carb/intake manifold area at the back of the engine, seemed to stop temporarily with a bit of WD40 but now it's pretty much constant.

The noise is pretty high pitched and only seems to stop during acceleration which made London to Brighton traffic a nightmare haha

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated as I have no clue!

check inlet manifold nuts are tight - a slight tweak may change the noise -

if they are tight then  a new manifold gasket

or a pipe cracked / come off

yehp air leak there sumwhere, get the car running then spray little squirts of wd40 around the place you did before when it stopped, if it should increase the engine revs then remedy the problem, loose bolts or pipe issue or gasket blown out or somthing
