Unplug the resistor.

Stood in front of the car with the bonnet raised. On the right hand side of the engine bay you'll see a gold coloured ribbed cylinder. It's usually bolted vertically to the stay between the tower mount/bulkhead crossmember and the inner wing. Trace the wire from it and you'll find a round plug/socket. Disconnect that and seal the ends - the end that goes into the wiring loom will have a live wire when it's trying to do it's dim-dip stuff so you need to make sure noting gets in there that could cause a short and you also want to avoid rubbish getting in there so that it'll work if you come to re-connect at a later date.

Not sure if the location of the relay is different on a wrong hand drive car.
