afternoon,

this summer, i'm driving down to Millau, turns out i'm taking the mini.

Now, instead of doing 750 miles on the motorway, i'm feeling turning it into a bit of a road trip.

So i need your recommendations on good things to see around France and any great driving roads i need to take the mini down :)

thanks guys :)

After the Millau bridge you can head into Andorra for some fantastic mountain roads.

Alternative is head towards Marseille and the coast roads towards Monaco.

Andorra is quality! We have a house down there an I promise you the road from quillan (town in France where our house is) to Andorra via aix le thermes is the best road ever. 1hour continuous driving road and is FANTASTIC. Tour de France use it

Quillan is the best mountain town by far, and Andorra alcohol is well cheap;)

The Massif Central region around Millau has dozens (hundreds) of brilliant roads, we do that region a lot on the bike in the summer. Get off the Auto route at Claremont and head in to the Volcans and work your way down from there. You can do the whole journey from Calais without going near an auto route, but France is so big it can take you far too long, depending how much time you have. The Gorge du Tarn is nice, but the road isn't the best IMHO, there are better. Infact I headed up out of the gorge up onto the plateau which was better, the gorge road can be quite busy. Just get a large scale map and head for the twisties, the topography of the land means that good roads go in almost every direction
