got some paint today..meant to be smoke grey looks more green to me..anyone tell me if it looks about right please..

give it a good stir and paint a small chit of it on a piece of metal to get a better idea . Im going for tweed grey and thats quite a browny grey

i gave it a long shake and stir( i'm a painter by trade so use to mixing paint) and thats what it looked like..

I hadnt noticed the large swatch of it on the left hand side of the tin lid, whoops. try it out in the sunshine for a better idea. one of my old rovers was anthracite which you would think would be black but it was a dark blue

Have a look in the variants project section there is a pick up that's just been painted smoke grey and its the same as on your tin a very green grey ill find the link for you

thanks sixtyeight...that one looks more grey to me..i did a google image search and they all looked different shades to me..

What was the paint suppliers and what was the paint code you used? that is the colour that I am after.

the code is BU-15 i got mine from jawel paints off ebay

Just came across this as the next car I am doing is also going to be Smoke grey. I can tell you that most of the paint suppliers now do not get an accurate colour match/mix, as the current manufacturers/suppliers of paint only really make a rendition of the original colour. However if you want an accurate shade, and this goes for anyone doing this colour or any other then contact Ken on 07778 165 966, he supplies me with my paint, and has all the old data on tints for old mixes, he can even supply celly in a lot of colours to, just in case you want to keep an old resto very original.
