I am really amazed how water can find a way, I have TEC7 around the lower part of the windscreen (metal to rubber) and sillicone between the glass and rubber in the bottom (smaller nozzle).

 

When I hose the car, everything is fine. If I hit rain when driving everything is fine.  I the car is parked and then it starts to rain there is a tiny leak in the left hand side of the window where you have an angle and the rubber is going vertically. I am 100% shure that the bottom half of the rubber is sealed with sillicone, so where is the water coming from?!? Any ideas?

Do you have the later fat, wide seal as fitted to mpis or the better narrower earlier one?

Mine always leaked until I got the original style seal put on and its never leaked a drop since.

Apply captain tolley's creeping crack cure between the glass and the rubber and the rubber and the body.
Looks like a kind of watery PVA but works a treat. You can get it from boat yards and chandlers or probably evilbay.

Mine always leaked until I got the original style seal put on and its never leaked a drop since.

 

Really? For some reason I would think that the wider would be better, but maybe I should pop the window out and put in a narrow seal instead. Did you have any challenges doing this?

No but you will need the tool to refit the fillet strip

Its possible there is rust under the seal and this is what is causing your problem. You wont know until youw hip the screen out.

I cured all my issues with a layer of black duct tape all the way rond the edge of the windscreen panel, then just a smackering of oil-based (not silicone - goes brittle after a short while) black sealant afterwards. Also prevents any water getting inbetween the scuttle, pillar and bulkhead panel joins.

My mini expert garage told me what I said above, and say they've seen the effects of the new style seal on countless mpis. The old style seal didn't do this. Like I said I haven't looked back since getting the older style seal fitted.
