In an attempt to sort (or rule out) my cars strange running conditions, I bought a new temp sensor. Cheap enough and at almost 20 years old now, why not.

From everything I have read, most say it is an intake manifold OUT job. I was feeling adventurous and thought to do it with out removing.

It can be done...and pretty easily actually. I jacked the car up high, slid under and used a 3/4" deep socket on a few long extensions. Surprised how easy it was to get out from under the car. So surprised that I forgot I hadnt emptied the coolant out:-) I really didnt think it would work so I ended up with a bit of a pond in the garage.

Just thought I'd post and let people know. Anything to make things a bit easier.

Excellent! That confirms that it is possible.

Yep, just finished it up last night. You can even reach up and put the plug back on.
