Hello chaps and chap-ets! im back! and its 30 days till im 17 so ile be on the road soon so thought id show some intrest in my car again, as we know the headlights in minis are pretty poor, and one of my bulbs has gone so i was thinking about getting halogens, is there a differance between the headlight itself? i knwo the buld are differant and that, any that can be recomended? cheers chaps and chap-ets

the headlight is completely different. You'll need a new pair!
Wipacs seem to be the most popular conversion, and are a good solid unit (and sold by pretty much all of the mini specialists, along with a few others as 7" headlights are pretty common in "older" cars).
Hella or Cibie/valeo are a better design of lens, but at twice the price......
A lot like the look of the Angel eyes units. I see 3 problems with them:
1. all the ones i've seen are not E-marked and therfore are technically illegal to use on the road.
2. The "ring" takes up room on the edge of the lamp leaving a smaller effective area for the main light to use, and are therfore not as capable of producing a "good" light.
3. The lens design is rubbish!

hmmmm, i dont like angel eyes so wont be getting them just want to replace my lights for halogen ones, the going rate on ebays about 35 qwid with postage witch is pretty reasonable i guess
