Evening,

After sone quick advice

1970 Clubman Estate - brake test switch fitted - doesn't work.

Does it need one for the MOT? Would it have had one from new?

If it's fitted does it have to work?

For some reason, if you join the wires at the engine side, as if there was no fluid, then the switch only lights up if you press it - shouldn't it stay on?

Thanks

Peter

Just leave the wires joined up for the mot, so it works if the tester bothers trying it  the switch is suppose to light up if you press it, thats to check the bulb works

you can pull the front of the switch off and unscrew the bulb and change for a bulb from a spare switch if you have one but be careful, i ruined mine.

But if it's got one fitted it has to work.

well.........all minor stuff :) :)

I was half expecting him to say which ever numpty did these brakes/suspension/gaiters needs shooting - but thankfully they are all fine.

It would seem that last night when I fixed the brake test light not only did I knacker the fog light, but the horn as well - are they on the same fuse?

1. Horn

2. headlight aim

3. beam pattern

4. blue full beam light on dash.

Headlights were next on the list anyway - just was hoping to wait to next pay day - Cibies it is then.

and advisory

1. slight play in steering

2. front wheel bearing

So retest 8:30am saturday morning, then post office for tax, afternoon polishing then Blackpool Run on Sunday. :)
