That was down at L2B a year or two ago, it bolts to the gutter (I put small rubber pads so it didn't scratch it) and away I went.. Make sure you have ratchet straps (can pick them up from pound shop etc) and or bungee straps.

Good tip with the rubber buffers, as without the 'legs' will scratch the gutter. I have uses a couple of strips of black electric insulating tap, and have also used strips form an old bicycle tube.

It's a wee bit rusty in places so I think it will need spraying or something.

Same! I used the inner tube from a bicycle tyre - was able to cut it to the length I required :)
Iirc mines a Desmo rack, not the prettiest (well compared to say the Monte Carlo versions) but for the purpose they serve, well worth it. Guess you could treat the rust and then paint it, probably would look better.
