Hello. Just got back from the run (what a blast, sorry for those who didn't go) But when on the cruise I dropped a gear to blast up a hill in Truro. As I did this the engine started to misfire and the rev gauge was going mad, jumping up and down the range but from what i could tell the engine was still just popping a bit. Now I nursed it up the hill and carried on as there were no warning lights and the idle seemed to be fine. It complained for about another minute before going fine. So down the road the engine is running fine but when I accelerate the rev gauge does a little dance again!!!!??!?!?! Very strange. I did a tactical pull over, turn it off, have a quick look under the bonnet and turn it on and all was well.
I was thinking could this random problem be the crank sensor? I did get the revs up quite quick at the hill so could I have got it out of sink and it was sending wrong readings? Plus is this where the rev gauge gets it's reading from? It's running good now and did the trip home without any probs. How very strange :D

this happens when the electronic ignition module (on the side of the dizzy) is on its way out.

cool. I'll take those in and have a play round. Might go and replace a few things to be sure. best new then less chance of more probs later on.
