I've recently bought a 1970 1000, I was wondering if would be necessary to use a fuel additive.
I'm not used to older cars so don't know if it's either ok to do or whether it's a must or worth doing.
Thanks in advance!

I have a 75 Clubby and i use a fuel additive so unless you know the head has had hardened valve seats fitted then yes use an additive.

I would recommend using Castrol Valvemaster.
You can get it in places like Halfords, use as directed.

Ok thanks for the replies.
What about Redex? I have some in the garage for my everyday car, would it be ok to use in the Mini?
Cheers!

Try Castrol, most additives are snake oils and are just a kerosene mix..
