Jus bought an Aston Martin style fuel cap

It looks great but there is a big gap between the fuel cap and the body work, as if it needs pushing down more

Is there a knack to putting these on, or is it just I need to move the fuel tank around an help appreciated

I thought the same when I put mine on, but the cap should sit right next to the seal around the filler neck, did look a bit wrong at first but used to it now.

What tank is in there? I swapped from a vented tank for carb setup, to an MPI tank for injection/forced inducation and the neck on the MPI is much shorter, I could not use my monza cap, need to use the standard chrome one and even thats a tight fit against the rubber.
