Hi all
Picked up some unusual 12x5" wheels the other day (picture of one of them below) but I'm now struggling to find the correct wheel nuts for them.
I'm hoping somebody can help please.

They clearly need a sleeved nut with flat washer - and from what I can tell the holes measure approx. 17.5mm in diameter which I think means I would ideally need 11/16" diameter sleeve/shank nut. Is this correct or would 5/8" (16mm approx.) diameter fit snug enough? or would this be too loose and potentally dangerous?
Problem is that 5/8" diameter sleeve nuts of roughly the correct length are readily available (Grayston engineering SN21) - but the only ones I can find that are 11/16" diameter are the revolution type (Grayston engineering SN27) and the sleeve/shank is much too long (30mm). Can the sleeve/shank be cut down to the correct length (19mm / 3/4" approx.) so that it is flush with the back of the wheel? Is this good practice - or are there any safety issues with doing this?
So the basic questions after all that waffle are:
1 - can I safely use a 5/8" dia sleeve nut? ......or
2 - should I use an 11/16" dia sleeve nut and shorten the shank/sleeve?
3 - is there any other option??
Many thanks in advance.
cheers
