Well, when I accelerate there is a tapping noise coming from the engine or right wheel. However it is only at the point where I apply small amount pressure to the accelerator pedal. When I apply generous amounts it goes. I suppose it's when I'm cruising with light pressure on the accelerator it is the most prominent. Any help?

Cheers

Without hearing the noise, I am shooting in the dark...is it possible something loose on the exhaust?  I just fitted a different exhaust on me car this weekend and missing one hanger at the front so there is the tapping noise, but once I accelerate to take off or speed up it goes away.

A knock could be the engine steady bushes worn

It is virtually impossible to diagnose that fault without seeing and driving the car.

It could be a CV joint, ignition too far advanced or the wrong advance curve at light throttle settings, engine mounting(s), engine steady bushes, inner drive shaft joint, or other things.

To go further would just be guessing really.

I'm of the same opinion it could be something as simple as over advanced and what your hear is pinking, have you checked the timing ?

I can hear mine, well the noisy one. Although I have none of that soundproofing foam stuff at all in the engine bay and cabin.
