Had a set-back yesterday trying to bleed my brakes (see separate Chat).  7 1/2" Cooper S discs with Goodridge flexible hoses to the front copper loop pipe.  The problem seems to be that the banjo bolt which sits in the two way union and carries the brake pressure switch, is too long - it took a total of four washers - one small and three larger for the step - before it would tighten and even then, it is not seating/sealing properly.

So, assuming that the Goodridge hoses are standard dimensions (and I would be surprised if that were not the case) my question is do the banjo bolts come in different lengths or should there be a matching set of banjo bolt, union and pressure switch?

Help as always appreciated.

Bob

they are handed :)

You have the braided hoses on the wrong sides...the hole is deeper in one of them

Not sure what's happening with the forum because I thanked you and the post has now disappeared!

Anyway, Red face day - I would never have thought of those hoses being handed.......  Thanks anyway, looks like a low cost solution, and that's the first one this week!

Kind regards,

Bob

Easy mistake, I only dropped lucky when I did mine in that I'd read a post on here where somebody had same problem, so I looked out for it when I fitted them :)
