under my bonnet looks awful. i would like to take the head off and give it a clean and ofcourse the radiator and airbox but will i need to invest in new gaskets if im taking the head off? cheers

Without a doubt. When you take any part of the engine off that has a gasket, youre going to need to replace that gasket.

You don't need to remove the head to clean the engine bay...
